At Kaleidoscope Yarns, we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and knitting expertise. Your business is very important to us and we want to make sure that you are happy with your order. If you have a question about your order, please read the following information and your question will most likely be answered. If not, please email us.
Order Processing
You credit card is charged once your order has been reviewed for accuracy, not when you submit your order. Internet orders are normally processed within 48 hours during our open business hours. Orders placed after 8am or on days we are closed (Sundays and holidays) will be processed beginning the following business day. All shipments within the United States will go by UPS ground service, USPS Priority Mail or USPS 1st Class Mail. It is our decision how your package will be shipped, so please provide us with proper address information.
Chargebacks
If you supply an incorrect address to us as your shipping address, and do not get us a correct address before we ship your package, we will charge you for any extra delivery fees that may apply. If your package is addressed to the correct address, but for some reason you do not pick it up in a timely manner, and UPS or the USPS returns it to us, we will charge you for any and all shipping costs associated with this.
Expedited Shipping
Expedited shipping is available at an extra cost to you, the customer. If you choose expedited shipping of any sort, that means that when it leaves our shop, it will take less time to get to you. Your order may still take up to 48 hours to be processed internally. Orders are processed in the order in which they come in. Each order, regardless of the shipping method you choose, is treated the same, with the same amount of care, consideration and attention to detail. We do not make extra money when you pay more for shipping – that goes directly to UPS for increased shipping costs. Thank you for understanding.
International Orders
Due to the high rate of international credit card fraud we need three extra business days to authorize the charges. We appreciate your understanding. Your credit card company automatically converts the US dollar amount for your order and charges you in your country's currency (they typically charge a 1-2% commission for this service). For a general idea of what our price is in your own currency, use this site: www.xe.com/ucc. International shipping time may take as little as seven days but can be as long as 90 days depending on the address. Unfortunately the US Postal Service is not able to provide us with a firm date as to when you will receive your order. International order totals DO NOT INCLUDE any taxes, VAT fees, or other duties or customs fees charged by the country of delivery. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to pay your appropriate government agencies when you get your order. We know nothing about what these charges may be so please do not ask us; instead contact your local customs office. Also, we are unable to mark any package as a "gift" as we are under legal obligation to list the true contents for customs.
Shipping of International Orders
International Shipments are sent via the United States Postal System. We use First Class Mail International or Priority Mail International, depending on the weight and size of the package. In some instances, we may choose to send a package with UPS Worldwide. All international orders will have a $25 surcharge added to the order during the checkout procedure. We then pack and weigh the order in house, and apply a more accurate shipping amount to your order. In most cases (not all) we end up adjusting the shipping downward to reflect actual costs. We are unable to give you a quote before you place your order, as we do not have an accurate weight until the order has been boxed. Thank you for understanding.
Shipping Rates
Our shipping rates are listed below. For orders over $125.00 we offer a shipping discount within the United States. This "Discount" will be deducted on your order form. If you should decide to return any of the items on your order, you will be charged all of, or a portion of, the original quoted outbound shipping amount. International orders over $125 will still be assessed a surcharge, but the base shipping amount before the surcharge will be $0.
